F1 2010 app screenshots and mini-review
Posted by Cameron in Apple, Internet, iPhone, Just for Fun, Personal, Technology on April 5th, 2010
As a fan of F1 I have been chasing a great app for my iPhone which has current F1 news, season standings, practice/qualifying/race results etc. I installed the F1 2010 app recently (AUS$3.99 in the iTunes app store [link]) and have found it to be VERY useful. Combined with the free official F1.com live timing app [link] (great to use while watching races!) I think I’ve now got all bases covered.
The biggest downfall of F1 2010 is the fact that it doesn’t (and can’t) include actual live timing. This information is controlled by the FIA and that’s where the free official F1.com app comes in handy. However the combination of HEAPS of season and career data, historical data, current news (which seems to be mostly sourced from crash.net) AND great push notifications make it a great buy! You can even opt to get live top 10 positions pushed to you as free live alerts during the race. Awesome if you can’t watch the race live.
Here are a bunch of screen grabs from the app on my iPhone

A mate of mine co-driving in a recent rally in Otago, New Zealand really show some quick thinking to get out of a tricky situation. Nice work man!
Seriously fast fun!!!

Oh what I would give to sit alongside Alain Castellana for this ride in his custom Norma M20, powered by a 400bhp BMW M3 engine. That is, if they added a second seat! This drive up the Saint Baume mountain near Gemenos, France is one of the finest and fastest pieces of driving I have ever seen. Enjoy!
