Racing and babes keep me busy at the Townsville 400

Was a GREAT day today in Townsville as the first day of racing kicked off at the Townsville 400. I was commissioned to shoot some general views, crowds and excitement as well as Miss Universe Australia Rachael Finch. No problem I said! Managed to squeeze in a bit of action as well. Day 2 of the Townsville 400

Today for me was day 2 of the Townsville 400 but it was the first official day of ‘cars on track’. Premier Anna Bligh and former Liverpool star Robbie ‘God’ Fowler had “hot laps” which was probably the highlight picture wise. The photographer positions to actually shoot the race are terrible, normally there are actual cut-outs in the fencing to allow us to shoot through with long lenses but at the Townsville track there are virtually none at all. Hopefully the track staff will come through tonight with angle grinders and give us better access tomorrow… Fingers crossed!

Had a portrait job with Jamie Whincup this afternoon so while I waited outside his pit garage I thought I’d knock over a quick video of the pitlane area. Gee it’s nice to see V8 Supercar racing in Townsville!
Tough job but I guess someone has to do it!

Been working away in the hot sun at the Townsville 400 V8 Supercar event. Only day 1 of 4 and already I have the best pic of the event in the bag. Easy peasy!
