Where would we be without Photoshop?
Posted by Cameron in Equipment, Personal, Photography, Studio on June 6th, 2009
Had to do a quick ‘on-location’ portrait for a client yesterday so after it was done I threw my kids in for a couple of quick snaps, knowing well that this would keep me in the good books with my wife for at least couple of days!
What this does show you is that good Photoshop skills can make a world of difference, even with a bog standard and quite dull portrait. (Hope I’m not accused of calling my kids bog standard and dull!). Lighting was very simple as shown by the sketch, back/hair light was about a stop over and the main light was bouncing out of a brolly and also off the wall. Can’t recall exactly what I did in Photoshop but I did use Color Efex Pro 3.0 tools combined with general Photoshop dodging, cloning and spot healing.

I’ve just installed NextGen gallery on my blog so I thought I would test it out with this set of pics I shot last year of the lovely girls from the 2008 North Queensland Cowboys HotSquad. That was a great job!

Just stumbled upon a set of truly fantastic photos by UK snapper Mike Stimpson. You can find the full set at this link but make sure you also check out the photo notes for info on how Mike shot the pics. Enjoy!
Got Milk?
Posted by Cameron in Uncategorized on April 24th, 2008
I spent a tough day in the studio on Sunday with 22 girls from the North Queensland Cowboys HotSquad – tough, real tough! Anyway, I’m real happy with the results so should have something to show soon. In the meantime I did a job for a dairy company with the lovely Renee and Emma. The pics will be made into lifesize cutouts promoting their flavoured milk products.
